Click for more detail... I first became a ham in 1973 with the callsign WN3UOH. Unfortunately I let that call run out, but in 1977 I once again earned my license, this time with my present call. Serving our country, going to college and apartment living prevented any hf activity for nearly 12 years. Finally in 1991 I purchased my own home and within a month I was on the air thanks to a local ham and my brother WA3RXE. I am an elementary school teacher. Being a teacher means summer vaction; summer vacation means working dx to far away places through ham radio! I like visiting with people in places I will probably never see. By learning about other cultures I believe I do a better job of introducing geographical and cultural concepts to my little guys. My station includses a Kenwood 850, AL 811 amp and an R5vertical/G5RV on low bands, ants. My interest is mainly hf but I do have 2m/440 ht . I am most active on 10, 12, 15, 17 and 20 meter bands.
