G'day from Gisborne. The first city in the world to see the sun rise everyday. I was born back in '45 in the UK and emigrated to New Zealand in 1967. I returned to the UK for my eldest daughter's health in 1979 and took the Amateur Radio exam in '83 taking the call G1NFD then upgrading to G0LBP before returning to ZL and taking the present call. Radio interests are DXing, Contesting and antennas. Station is capable of HF psk31, rtty, SSTV as well as ssb and a little cw. Also UHF, VHF packet and APRS. You may see me on PSK31 on 30m. My antennas consist of three element mono band beams for 20m and 17m at approx 50ft, a Carolina Windom for 160m thru' 10m at 50ft plus 80m single loop quad SW/NE and 40m single loop quad NW/SE. All home brew except for the Carolina Windom. Next project 80/160m vertical. Rigs are IC725 for data and FT1000d for main HF with an Ameritron AL811 amp. Member of New Zealand Amateur Radio Transmitters. NZART. At present I write the DX section of the NZART magazine 'Break-In'. Proud member of the East Coast Contesters ZM2M Honoured to be a member of the ZL7T DXpedition to Chatham Island 2009 Ex-President of Gisborne Amateur Radio Club Inc. Other hobbies include shooting (CAS/SASS) and classic American cars. QSL no problems via buro or direct. Not E-QSL.
