LOCATION AND SIZE As an island country, Nauru has no land borders with other countries. It is roughly circular in shape and has about 30 kilometers (18 miles) of coastline. Comparatively, Nauru is about one-tenth the size of Washington, D.C. Nauru has no cities and its population lives in small settlements along the coast. POPULATION Nauru's population was estimated at 11,845 in July 2000. About 58 percent of the total consists of indigenous Nauruans, a Pacific people of mixed Melanesian, Micronesian, and Polynesian ancestry. About 26 percent of the population consists of other Pacific peoples (mainly from the neighboring island countries of Kiribati and Tuvalu). Nauru's smaller minority populations are 8 percent Chinese and 8 percent European. The population growth rate was 2.4 percent in 1998. Nauru has no official population policy. About 80 percent of Nauru's territory consists of land that has been mined for phosphate. This land is not inhabited and is not suitable for agriculture. Nauru's people live entirely in the fertile coastal areas, especially along the southwest coast. Nauru's population is very young. About 41 percent of the total population is under the age of 15, while about 57 percent are between the ages of 15 and 64. Only about 2 percent of the population is above the age of 65.

DXPEDITION GENERAL OBJECTIF
To promote the HAM radio amateur activity in Nauru, to communicate with the rest of the world from Nauru, to strength the radio network in Nauru for disaster preparedness and to install a permanent station in Nauru under the national telecommunications authorities for promotion of ham radio after the dxpedition. With this goal a dxpedition will be organized for Nauru, with the support of Danish DX Group, EUDX, etc (more donations are welcome). * To communicate with at least 20,000 ham radio amateurs from the rest of the world . * To donate a HF station to the DM agency in Nauru (if the dxpetition gets any) in order to support telecommunications during disasters. * To get a permanent callsign from Nauru after the dxpedition with the engagement of permanent use. INDICATORS * A HF is donated to the DM agency of Nauru and a MoU is signed * A C21xx callsign is allocated permanently in the island * A website is created mentioning all donors and supporters to the Dxpedition Selection will be made from EA4ATI, team leader for the dxpedition. EA4ATI will make the selection and will decide the final candidates. Preparation of the dxpedition. Any comment should be sent to the team leader (Daniel Bolaños, ea4ati@madrono.net) A person has been identified in Nauru to support with the logistics of the dxpedition in the island. Sponsors DX groups and association will me mentioned on the websites, articles, publications, banners and other visibility material, coordinated by EA4ATI. Danish DX Group and EUDXF will support this dxpedition (more sponsors are welcome). Other recognized operators will be invited to this dxpedition. Sponsors are asked to cover the costs for flight tickets, material, and hosting. If there are not donations, operators should cover all expenses. Flight tickets will be emitted from each operator. Material will be prepared by the C21TI team. The person should already have a good knowledge of operation during dxpeditions and have a good understanding of team working. Promotion and publicity for C21TI: The C21TI Pacific Adventure DX-Expedition was introduced in Merca Ham Radio 2009 on ARMIC EA3RKR estand and was also promoted during the International Sahara Meeting in June 2009 where was active a S.E.S (7U2ISM), with the Association of blinds Handicapped Radio Amateurs presence in the event.
