Hello, my name is Theo and I am VK5FTDM. I only just aqquired my Foundation
licence on 18/1/07, so I am very new to amateur radio, although I have had a
big interest for years.
My setup is fairly bare at the moment, comprising of a Yaesu FT-840 and a
vertical for 10 meters which sits roughly 25 feet in the air. I have also just
put up a fairly basic end-fed wire 20 meters long and about 5 meters high,
which was a quick and cheap attempt at puting up a wire antenna :) You will
find me active mainly on 10, 15 and 40 meters.
I am now also also active on 2 meters as I have just purchased a cheap HT from
ebay. It is a Puxing PX-777, and I love it! Does a great job for a cheap
chinese HT. I often monitor the Crafers repeater on 147.000 or you might also
find me on the VK5FM-L echolink link on 145.525 simplex (Node no. 133196).
I have had a huge interest in CB and Amateur Radio since the early 90's, and
have also have a Uniden PRO 810E for 27Mhz, but that will not be getting too
much use anymore since I am now an amateur operator.

For VK DX spottings check out http://www.vklogger.com - a very handy amateur
radio resource.
If you hear me about the place, let me know, and if I make a mistake here or
there, please forgive me while I get settled in.
My Echo Link node number is 332390. Look forward to having a QSO with you.
*******I QSL 100% direct and look forward to receiving your QSL Card.**********
Thx. 73's. Theo. VK5FTDM.
