Hi ! Thanks for your interest in 3D2MT operation.

Many thanks for QSOs, especially to you all who managed to copy 3D2MT signal on the Top Band.

The expedition photos have been uploaded to http://www.qrz.lt/foto/main.php?g2_view=core:ShowItem&g2_itemId=21172&g2_page=1

As most of my previous operations, this was a single op expedition, therefore I could not be on the air 24 x 7, all modes and bands, but focused on 80m, 40m, 30m and 160m bands CW only. The primary QTH was OC-016.

I had home-made vertical antennas for the bands 80m & up, with a few kg of radial wire. Radials were grounded, and I wasn't impressed how they worked. 160m band operation was not within the scope initially, but due to the many requests on the air, I have constructed a low dipole for TX. All antennas were some 20-30m from the water front at a high tide. I had separate RX antennas for low bands. One short Beverage at 50 dgr was used for US and another short Beverage at 330 dgr for Europe. I was running 100W only, as the 3D2 licence permits maximum power on HF only 150w, and only 100W on the Top Band.

It was nearly impossible to control the pile up by working in numbers - Europe stations did not properly hear what number I was asking for, therefore I was giving a general CQ and it used to be the time of the day and propagation controlling the regions I worked (TX PA was 100W).

Please also note that this callsign has been previously issued for other expeditions, therefore this 3D2MT info is valid only for August 28 - September 04, 2007 3D2MT operation.

I'm currently based in Australia (now VK2CCC). It is perfectly OK to send ur cards via VK2CCC BURO.
