The Lightship No. 25 FINNGRUNDET

Previously with the radio callsign "SFJ." She was built in 1903 by the Gefle Works and was in service until 1969, when she was decommissioned. Since 1970 she lies anchored outside the Vasamuseet at Djurgården in Stockholm and serves as a museum ship, twinkling her recognition signal: two consecutive flashes every 20 seconds.

The Lightship FINNGRUNDET is managed by SMM (Statens Maritima Museer), The Swedish National Maritime Museums.

August 14 - 16 2009 we once again activated 7S0SFJon the HF bands 80M, 40M, 30M, 20M & 17M: CW& SSB.

We hope thatYou managed to hook up with us this year as well!

SWL reports are always appreciated.

*******************************************************************

August 15 - 17 2008: 7S0SFJ was once more QRV on SSB and/or CW, on the 80-40-30-20 and 17m bands.

All-in-all, just over 900 QSOs were made, out of which the majority on CW. We´re very pleased if YOU are in the log!

THANKS very much indeed, for another great weekend activity, with so many nice contacts!

WE DO HOPE TO HOOK UP WITH YOU AGAIN - further down the logs.

*******************************************************************

August 17-19 2007, we again had the privilege to activate 7S0SFJ and made 785 QSOs on the 80-40-30-20 & 17M bands, although condx were not favourable and fighting a very high local noise level from nearby sources.

THANKS A MILLION for all the QSOs and please forgive us for eventually not being able to copy Your call!

The COMPLETE backlog has been verified.

*******************************************************************

August 15-17 2003: We were again QRV from the ship and we had the GREAT PLEASURE of breaking previous ILLW number of QSOs. 2003 we made 915 QSOs in all and we say THANK Y O U, for the nice QSO or QSOs! QSLs are on their way.

It is always a pleasure working YOU!

We also hope that you´ll like our nice QSL (above), showing the Museum Lightship FINNGRUNDET.

*******************************************************************

Now, PLEASE TAKE A PAUSE FOR A GOOD LAUGH! This is a transcript of an actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1995:

Americans: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.

Canadians: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid collision.

Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert your course.

Canadians: No, I say again, you divert your course.

Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH - THAT IS ONE-FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.

Canadians: This is a lighthouse. It's your call!

*******************************************************************

Until we meet again - SEIZE THE DAY! Keep smiling and try to make someone happy!

BE AN OPTIMIST and - STAY HEALTHY! From all the 7S0SFJ operators (of club SK0QO) 88/73/55
