Hi my name isSteve. (The first name Tauno is said town-o and is a Finnish name).

I've been a ham since 1992 and but really didn't start operating till 2003 when I moved to SC and the activity and friendliness on the 146.610 Ceasers Head repeater in Greenville got me interested enough to pick up the only radio I had, a handheld, and start checking into the net every night. I've been active since and throughly enjoying it.

Visit www.kb0kbj.com to check out my website.

Listen to my public service online scanner which covers the counties around me.

Or the Ham radio vhf/uhf scanner for my area.

Below is my weather station. Click on it for more detail.

I enjoy Echolink, IRLPand APRS.

and some day would like to get a High altitude balloon in the air.

Here are links to some free programs I use.

Orbitron which is a excellent satelitte tracking program.

FLDigi which is I think is currently the best digital ham radio programs out there.

Audacity for recording and playing back audio and easy to edit.

WXtoIMG to decode NOAA's satelitte APT signals.

Asimple vox recorder for recording audio here

Hope you can make use of these.

Remember, it's a hobby so have fun.

I hope to hear you on the airwaves. 73 from the Upper Great Plains.
