Welcome to my QRZ Profile. I am a recent HAM ticket holder and obtained my license to expand my capabilities when doing K-9 Search and Rescue. So many times we are asked to perform SAR activities and reliable communications has always been an issue. HAM radio operations is the apparent solution for this. I am in the process of learning the basics for APRS which seems to be a valuable tool for Search for lost or missing persons. APRS can be used as an administrative tool to help keep a search organized. Knowing where our searches have been can provide us with more details on other areas that need to be covered. Additionally, when the lost person is found, using APRS will help dispatch additional personnel (Fire/Medical) to the location of the person. Well enough for now. I'll update as time goes on. 73's Jess KC9QEA
