I was born and raised in Galesburg, IL. I became a novice in 1978 and upgraded to tech in 1979. My callsign at that time was WD9BBR. That license expired in 1984. My interest in ham radio was rekindled in March 2001. I took the tech and extra test at the next VEC test April 23, 2001. I was able to renew and upgrade to extra during that session.
