First license in 1999 as Tech KC8LVQ, upgraded to General in November 2009 then upgraded to Extra in April 2010 AC8GI.

I run a Yaesu FT-2000 with an Alpha Delta dipole, KIO Hex Beam and a Zero Five 40-10m vertical.

I retired from Law Enforcement after 30 years of service with the State of Ohio. I still enjoy working with the local county Sheriff's office( volunteer duty).

I enjoy working HF Phone SSB mostly, but have been listening to PSK , I may start looking into obtaining the right equipment and start some QSO's in that mode.

I work alot on 15,17,20 m DX in the mornings or mid mornings and 40m in the evenings , sometimes in the middle of the night (2:00AM to 4:00AM) if I cant sleep.

Most of my contacts are made on 100 watts or less.

About the picture: This picture was taken at a festival not far from where I live, its a vintage Ford Fairlane(galaxy) about a 1960s model, made up to look like the Sheriff car on the Andy Griffith show (Mayberry). inside the car it does have a vintage police radio installed. I could'nt resist having my picture taken with the car, seeing how I enjoy watching the reruns of the Andy Griffith show.
