CF3NAVY will be active on 1-31 August to celebrate 100 years of submarine service in the Royal Canadian Navy. Activity will be on all bands and modes. QSL via VE3RCN, direct or bureau. SASE or two green stamps. Envelopes bearing US postage will be returned via next US port of call.

It all started back in 1914 when the Chilean govenment defaulted on the payment of two submarines in the Seattle ship yards and the British Columbia government snapped them up.

Some of the operations will be off a submarine in Canada. The QSL card will indicate this.

Curious? I have operated off of the HMCS Saskatchewan (DDE), HMCS Huron (DDH), HMCS Thunder (Minesweeeper), HMCS Moresby (Aux), HMCS Regina (FFH), USS Pamainito (SS), HMCS Ojibwa (SS) and USS New Jersey (BB).

Yes, that is me with the beard standing on HMCS Regina looking down at the jetty in the Phillipines...and that is me by the flag in the conning tower of the submarine....getting ready for the pass of an amateur radio statellite...SO50.

For more SUB pictures, follow me @CF3NAVY...this will also alert you to comm announcements.

Check out these links too...

Google CF3NAVY to see previous QSL cards.
