CQ5MGP is to be a special call sign used by Portuguese Navy Hamradio Club, known as "NUCLEO DE RADIOAMADORES DA ARMADA - NRA". This call sign was only used for contests or other special events.

Our Club official call sign is CS5NRA. Our Great Club was founded in 2002 July 27Th by CT1CZT and CT1EGH.

Since then we have already organized several events. Among of them is the "Portuguese Navy National Day Contest" which is the most significant of all.

The Contest goal is to celebrate an important historic fact in our naval history. It normally includes SSB, CW and PSK modes. We suggest to all Contest lovers to check our Contest regulations always available at: www.nra.pt
