DOK K39

Thanks for looking at my bio. My name is Hagen and I made my novice licence in 1991. A year later I upgraded to the extra class. My focus was and is always HF. Due to military service and multiple deployments I had to QRT in 1995 but picked up the hobby again in 2003 for a while before I married and got busy with life again.

Now, with a little more time on my hands the ham virus is back. Currently I am rebuilding my station. Limited space for the next 2-3 years will not allow me to set up my yagis for HF so a magnetic loop and verticals and dipols will have to do.

Currently I use the following radios:

Kenwood TS-590 (shack)

PRC-320 (portabe)

FT-817N (portable)

PRC-351 (portabe)

SEM-35 (potable)

various handhelds like the VX-7r, AE 2990AFS ect.

Recently QRP got me interrested a little, so I got a FT-817ND and currently try to find the best portable antenna system that suits me best.

Besides HAM radio, I also collect Pinball machines, refurbish and repair them but hardly ever play them. I guess fixing is more fun for me. My son, who is 14 years old, was recently introduced to CB radio, maybe one day he will also follow in my foot steps and become a ham operator.
