2012 Expedition to EW
HF-operations from Belarus as
EW/DL3LUM were successful on
9 August 2012. I was guest at station from Igor (TNX!!!), EU3AR in Gorodets (loc. KO22IE). 238 QSO's, 100% CW. Log is already uploaded to eQSL (Authenticity Guaranteed) and LoTW. Paper QSL's are sent out via DARC-Bureau. If you need direct please send a SASE.

On the pictures you can see Igor, EU3AR + Alex, EW1JM + me.
It seems my last EW expedition was in July 2009. Thus, time to return to my HAM-friend Igor, EU3AR. Starting operations we experienced some problems with cable connections and grounding. This was quite anusual. Part-time the signal appeard not good in its modulation. Sorry for that! PA was switched off, all connections checked while operations went-on. Later-one the problems were fixed. I used a TS-850S and FT-900, antenna was a 2-element Quad. For CW a double paddle keyer from Kent and the K1EL WKUSB interface were utilised. Logging with UcxLog. Part-time quite some pile-up (great experience to me), contacts made up to VK, JA, W6, VE, UA9, . and many countries in Europe. I have tried to catch as much as possible QRP stations too. Of course I also enjoyed the hospitality of Igor. We had some nice talks (while eating and having coffee) about our hobby and the future of CW. We all concluded that ways need to be found in attracting youngsters to CW operation since it is fun once you are infected. And we want the fun to remain for many more years to come.

BTW: If you are interested in an EW expedition (licensing, equipment, local support) simply approach Igor. He will be of great help to you.
