After 3 years as SWL starting in Merseburg/Germany I was licensed in 1983 as Y39RH. Later I moved to Ilmenau and was active as Y32JK since 1984. Due to the german reunification I lost this callsign and had to change to DL5ATP, later I applied for a 2letter suffix: DL5MO and since 2005 I'm the holder of DL5X too. The call DL5X/p is used for our WFF activities (DLFF-032,DLFF-027), DL5MO and DL5X are resident in DLFF-128.

Though I prefer DXing, using a FT900/IC7400 I use no PA or beams as some of the neighbourhood make trouble.

From time to time I'm QRV from JO50 square on 2m/70cm/23cm band, usally on 160m to 10m. Almost 300 entities are confirmed; the 30m band is my prefered DX band - hunting for DXCC310 too.

I've been QRV during holiday style DXpeditions from OK, OZ, SM6, SM7, I, OE, TK, F and VE.

In June/July 2009 I was on IOTA EU-048, Ile de Groix DIFM AT012. Direct QSLs are handeled prefered, bureau card lasts longer but will be confirmed 100%. QSL cards have been printed and started to answer on January 24th 2010.

Since April 16th 2010 my QTH is located in DLFF-128 for WFF award program - qrv usually as DL5X.

In 2011 I activated OEFF-134 and OEFF-002 as OE/DL5MO/p and in April/ May 2011 DLFF-035, DLFF-078 and DLFF-042 in July 2011 as DL5X/p.

Look at http://www.dl5mo.de and http://www.dk0tui.de what is the site of the local DARC radio club of Ilmenau X30, where I was the chairman 2000-2004. Now I am the head of the Verein Amateurfunkzentrum Ilmenau.
