Update Jan 9, 2015:
Visited the African part of my family again, supported my wife to finish the paperwork for her German entrance visa, and brought her finally to Germany. Thanks God - we are reunited ...
Were active again in CW only, made +5.000 contacts this time, and I hope you enjoy the rare multi in WWDX CW 2014. My best thanks goes to Ephrem (KB3WWT) who gives me access to the equipment of ET3AA whenever I had some free time.

Update May 9, 2014:
Joined ET3AA club station again while residing in Addis Ababa for family duties (Yordi [XYL] and Ulli [OP] - we celebrated the first anniversary of our marriage together with family members and friends of the family).
Were active in CW only while this stint and made +3.000 contacts. Thanks especially to Getu (KB3WWU) for his hospitality. Even when I called him 20 minutes before arriving the institute he kept always the door open for me. Unfortunately, I 'wasted' two days (three hours each) while waiting unsuccessfully for power (power blackouts happen very often in Addis Abeba). Nevertheless, it's just a hobby and you simply have to wait patiently.
