Update May 9, 2014:

Joined ET3AA club station again while residing in Addis Ababa for family duties (Yordi [XYL] and Ulli [OP] - we celebrated the first anniversary of our marriage together with family members and friends of the family).

Were active in CW only while this stint and made +3.000 contacts. Thanks especially to Getu (KB3WWU) for his hospitality. Even when I called him 20 minutes before arriving the institute he kept always the door open for me. Unfortunately, I 'wasted' two days (three hours each) while waiting unsuccessfully for power (power blackouts happen very often in Addis Abeba). Nevertheless, it's just a hobby and you simply have to wait patiently.

Activities:

Apr 12, 2014 - 08:01 ... 10:27 UTC                    Apr 28, 2014 - 08:39 ... 14:02 UTC
Apr 15, 2014 - 11:40 ... 13:01 UTC                    Apr 30, 2014 - 08:24 ... 10:53 UTC
Apr 19, 2014 - 08:19 ... 12:58 UTC                    May  1, 2014 - 10:27 ... 12:54 UTC
Apr 24, 2014 - 11:27 ... 15:21 UTC                    May  3, 2014 - 06:21 ... 10:24 UTC
Apr 25, 2014 - 09:48 ... 14:01 UTC                    May  6, 2014 - 07:24 ... 09:40 UTC

QSL information:

Reply to all incoming QSL requests with an own QSL card (bureau welcome!) and upload the corresponding record(s) to LOTW (I am able to upload QSOs to LOTW I made by myself ONLY. Please don't ask for other dates/times/mode!).

This QSL card is available now!

Update Oct 16, 2013:

Visited ET3AA club station while residing in Addis Ababa for family duties. Made 20 Q's (because lack of CW capabilities - all QSLs has been send via the bureau) but will return to the guys at the Institute of Technology over the next few years.

Among the followers of Sid: Getnet (KB3WWU), Tsegaye (KB3WWJ), Hailemelekot (AB3OX), and Dawit (KB3WWI) [from left to right]

Update June 25, 2013:

Did put all antennas down and the whole HAM radio stuff is on its way to US. Will be back in Berlin on June 29, 2013. Have been warned by my neighbours of 'tons' of direct cards. I'm just running out of cards and the new QSLs are at the printer. Please QRX for processing the bureau/direct cards. Will send them out ASAP.

Thanks for all the nice contacts with you guys and hope to see you soon down my logs.

73 de Ulli

P.S. Dear Russian and Ukrainian guys. Please send me your QSLs for RDA & URDA award!

My QSL policy is:

+ ALL cards I receive will be answered for sure!
+ I'm one of those operators who REALLY LIKE PAPER QSLs!!
+ Cards received directly will be answered directly (normally within one week).
+ QSLs via bureau will be answered in the same way.
+ eMail requests for LOTW uploads of QSO detail(s) will be done within the same week. But I kindly ask for a paper QSL via the bureau.

From here I made almost 25.000 Qs. But what's missing? Correct - no antenna on the roof!

My QTH in Dubai Mirdif. This picture was taken while my first stay in Dubai without any RIG. Therefore still no antenna ...

But here you go ... Simple but effective!
