Para mis amigos y colegas mi nombre es MANOLO. Mi QTH es la bimilenaria ciudad de Mérida, fundada por Augusto en el año 25 A.C., para descanso de los soldados jubilados (emeritos) de las legiones V Alaudae y X Gemina. En su época visigoda, fué la segunda en importancia después de Toledo, en la época musulmana, frente al poder califal, Abderraman II, ordenó el expolio y destrucción parcial de la ciudad. Ahora es una prospera ciudad de cerca de 60.000 habitantes, con una infraestructura turistica de primer orden. Mi comienzo en radio allá por el año 1982, banda ciudadana 27 Mhz. con el indicativo de llamada ECB4-I-8, en 1984, EC4CGZ y en 1986 EA4EEC. Es el DX,s mi afición principal y comunicados con islas (IOTA).Mis equipos de HF, YAESU FT-1000MP MARK-V con MIC. MC- 200 Altavoz externo SP-8, Kenwood TS 520 SE, Kenwood TS 450 S, VHF Yaesu FT 212 RH, Antenas, Direcional MiniBeam MQ-2 de dos elementos para 6-10-12-15-17-20 metros, Dipolo 40-80 y Colineal VHF. Hasta el més de marzo del 2008, secretario de la Sección Local de URE en Mérida y en el 2012 Vicepresidente de la misma donde activamos Castillos y Monumentos de mi Región. Mi profesión es Militar del Ejercito Español desde el año 1971, actualmente Comandante del Arma de Artilleria. Participé en misión de Paz en Bosnia Herzegovina en el año 1997 en las ciudades de MOSTAR, Dracevo y MEDJUGORGE de donde pude traer como recuerdo una talla de la Virgen "MARIA REINA DE LA PAZ".

To my Friends and colleagues: My name is Manolo and my QTH is Mérida a city founded 2000 years ago. It was founded by August in the year 25 B.C as a place for the retired soldiers of the Legions V Alaude and X Gemina. During the Visigth times, Mérida was the second most important city. However, when the Peninsula was ruled by Muslims, Abderrahman II ordered a partial destruction of the city. Nowadays, Mérida is a prosperous tourist city where visitors can find a wide range of cultural activities and all the facilities they needed to have a great time. It was in the year 1982 when I joined the amazing world of radio on 27 Mhz. local band; my calling indicative was ECB4 I-8. Then it was EC4CGZ in 1984 and from 1986 my callin indicative is EA4EEC.
DX and communicating with islands (IOTA) are my main hobbies. My radio equipment consists of: YAESU FT-1000 MP MARK-V and MIC.MC-200 .an Sepeaker external SP-8, Kenwood TS 520 SE, Kenwood TS 450S, VHF Yaesu FT 212 RH; Antennas: MiniBeam MQ-2 Directional for band 6-10-12-15-17-20 metres; Dipolo 40-80 and Collineal VHF. I was Secretary at URE`s local section in Merida until 2008, and I am currently Vice-President at URE´s local section in Merida from where we organize a great variety of events such as Castles and Monuments workshops.
I am a Spanish Army Commander. I have been in the Army since 1971. In 1997 I was sent to Bosnia Herzegovina on a peace mission. I stayed in Mostar, Dracevo and Medjugorje where I coult get relic of the Virgin Mary Queen of Peace.
