First licensed as G3KDY on 20 January 1955, using TRF Rx & CO/PA Tx (6V6/6L6) running 10watts into 7 mhz dipole. operating on 7 & 14 mhz CW only. Also licensed as ZC4RF/5B4RF 1961/63 from Famagusta Cyprus. VS9ARF 1966/67 RAF Steamer Point Aden. ZD9BM 1969/73 Tristan Da Cunha. As my xyl and I now live in Spain a full Spanish call/licence was applied for, while waiting for the new call sign I used EA7/G3KDY. The new call was issued on the 22nd February 2007. ( my 71st birthday )

Equipment used now is Kenwood TS870s, 100 watts SSB 120 watts CW. Antennas  ( always changing ). at the moment using Inverted L turned and fed against garden wire mesh fence for Top Band, 80 & 30 mtrs through   MFJ-901B ATU,  Delta Loops for 40,20, 17, 15, 12, & 10 mtrs. RS-102  SWR & Power meter, Nissei SJCD-308 desktop microphone.

TOP BAND.

Please note that apart from some contests Spanish Amateurs at the moment are only allowed to use between 1.830 to 1.850 khz  very frustrating  when most of the DX is below 1.830 khz. conditions good or bad I usally operate on1.833 khz ( +/- QRM ).

On the 24th July 2009 after 54 years ! I finally became active on 6 mtrs. Equipment =  TS60s running 100 watts, antennas = 3 element Quad and Delta Loop.
