Out of circulation at present as I am in W6 until late May 2013.  Other than occasionally monitoring 2m and 70cm repeaters in the San Francisco area I am inactive.

I am active almost entirely in digi modes. I do a little SSB on 40m focused on EI, G and near EU contacts. I currently operate on most HF bands with a Steppir vertical or a 31m ladder-line-fed doublet. Currently I am also playing with a low full-wave loop for 20m which is interestingly low noise in this urban location. Rigs in use are TS440SAT, FT897D and TS870S. A H-422 rotary dipole is awaiting erection.

I have no serious interest in DX-ing. I still operate in AMTOR when possible using a SCS PTC2 - this is normally on 3.585 +/- MHz on Tuesdays in the winter months. Also I can use the WINMOR system for email with RMS express software. At present I am mainly operational with Olivia on 20m and 80m but I use other digital modes on HF from time to time. For some years now this has included JT65A and WSPR mode operation. From time to time I also try a little operation during RTTY contests but purely to provide some EI activity. After 10 yrs of relative Hell inactivity I would like some more Hell qsos but there appear to be few operators these days.

I upload to LOTW and my log since 1999 is all uploaded to date. I top up LOTW regularly (usually at least weekly). I will add to LOTW before 1999 on a gradual basis. A final batch of cards was despatched in February 2013.  I should now be largely clear.  If you are still missing a card and need one then please email me.

Future plans include some Olivia or other digital mode operation on Top Band and to that end I have done a little testing with WSPR at 5W to a carp rod top-loaded vertical. Given antenna limitations that is likely to be effective only within Western Europe. It is down for the present and will be re-erected for the winter.

Anyone wanting a sked or test can contact me via email.

My square info for Worked All Ireland award is O24 (Oscar 24).
