I am active almost entirely in digi modes. I do a little SSB on 40m focused on EI, G and near EU contacts. I currently operate on most HF bands with a Steppir vertical or a 31m ladder-line-fed doublet. I am also using a low dual band delta loop for 20m and 40m (apex at 10m agl) which is usefullylow noise in this urban location. Rigs in use are TS440SAT, FT897D, Flex 1500 and TS870S. The Flex 1500 and TS870s are the main rigs used on HF. A H-422 rotary dipole remains to be erected.
I have no serious interest in DX-ing. At present I mainly operate with Olivia on 20m and 80m but I use other digital modes on HF from time to time. For some years now this has included JT65A and WSPR mode operation. More recently JT9 has been in frequent use - there is more room there! I occasionally operate in AMTOR using a SCS PTC2. Also I can use the WINMOR system for email with RMS express software. A U3 QRSS/WSPR rig for QRP WSPR is used intermittently, mainly on 40m with about 1 W output. Very occasional SSB operation from the garden workshop takes place on 40m inbetween drilling/soldering or other workshop activities.
I upload to LOTW and my log since 1999 is fully uploaded to date. I top up LOTW regularly (usually at least weekly). I will add QSOs before 1999 to LOTW on a gradual basis. I have now run out of preprinted cards so I prefer to use LOTW if possible for QSL. If you need a card I will print one off for you. If you are missing a card and need one then please email me - the historic backlog has been cleared for more than a year. Note that the bureau route is relatively slow and I may not receive bureau cards for up to 6 months.
My square info for Worked All Ireland award is O24 (Oscar 24).
