Hi - my main interests are V/UHF (both DX and contesting) My station comprises a Yaesu FT-950 Transceiver for HF / 6m together with an Acom 1000 Linear Amplifier (obtained in July 2010 mainly for 6m use), an Icom IC-910HX for 2m, 70cm and 23cm, each of these is used with either an Icom SM-8 Desk Microphone, Heil Pro-Set Plus Headset or original Hand mics. My currently station antenna's comprise: Watson W300 Vertical (2m/70cm), 6m vertical dipole, 8 element (Powabeam) on 2m, 14 element (Powabeam) on 70cm and a 19 element (sand-piper) on 23cm, with a 40m Windom for limited HF use. A 4 Ele 6m LFA-S Yagi and 10m vertical and a few other antenna's are also available when band conditions (6m Summer Es etc) make erecting them on a temporary basis worth-while. Also in the shack are: Icom IC-R10 scanner, Kenwood THG-71E, TM-531, TMD-700, AKD 4001, AKD 6001 and some converted PMR Transceivers, various items of test equipment, including: MFJ-259B SWR Analyser, Bird 43 meter with a selection of plug-ins for HF/VHF/UHF. Although I was first licensed in 1985 and have now been active over 20 years, much of my activity between 1990 and 2006 was restricted to 2m FM and packet radio, hence many of my V/UHF DX contacts have been made since November 2006. I sometimes operate hill-top 'portable' for V/UHF contests with a variety of Antenna's including: 35 Element yagi for 23cm, 23 element yagi for 70cm, 8 or 9 element yagi for 2m, 4 element yagi for 6m and other bands as/when I can loan equipment from various local people. I have a NoV to carry out NVIS experiments on the 60m (5MHz) band, but my current activity on this band and the other HF bands is very restricted due to high levels of local noise (probably caused by broad-band PLT, SMPSU's etc). Further information, including lists and maps of my worked squares for the 10m, 6m, 2m, 70cm and 23cm bands and HF and VHF beacon lists can be found at www.g0lgs.co.uk IARU: IO81WV WAB: SO92 (GLR) ITU:27 WAZ:14 IOTA:EU-005 You may also have heard / worked me as: GW0LGS/P (in Wales), GR0LGS (Royal Wedding 2011), GQ0LGS (Queens Jubliee 2002/2012), GO0LGS (London 2012 Olympic Games).
