Hi from Mike, long time CW operator. Always been into home brew / diy with equipment and aerials. Apart from a couple of years as a cw instructor with the ATC, based at Castle Bromwich, I've been in the electronics / auto industry since my apprenticeship with Joseph Lucas Electrical, 1958 onwards.

From J.Lucas I moved to Hardy Spicer where I spent several years collecting data from front wheel drive systems and carrying out noise and vibration analysis on new vehicles.

I spent several years at Girling UK collecting and analysing dynamic data from vehicle braking systems and drive lines, from Minis to 32 ton trucks.

I spent a couple of years at Astro Communications Coventry, working on centralized dictation systems and communication receivers. I then moved to Marconi Communications as a quality control inspector on 2.5G fibre optic telephone systems, then a couple of years at Fujitsu in the same role.

I spent my last 10 years of employment working as a calibration engineer in the aerospace industry before I was asked to retire.

Smiths Aerospace UK was taken over by GE Aviation (USA) and they don't like sub-contractors or old 'uns. Their loss, of course.

You can see info for my aerials and lots of other stuff on my site www.g3upa.com/index.html
