Click for more detail... I have been interested in Ham Radio since 1952, I did my apprenticeship in radio and television servicing, took C&G at the Nottingham & District Tech College. I did my national service from 1960 to 1962 with the Royal Signals, 201 signal squadron attached to the Scots Guards, 1st Guards Brigade, amalamated in 1961 with the 51st infantry brigade located at Figsbury camp Winterbourne Gunner Salisbury Wilts. On demob I returned to the domestic electronics service industry. With that and getting married in 2nd June 1962 and having three children didn't get back to taking the exams and morse test and getting the A class licence until March 1983. In 1991 the last job was at the Electrical & Electronic Engineering Department at The University of Nottingham as an Electronics and IT Technician until 2003 when I retired. My Radio equipment consists of an FT ONE, FT 902DM, FT757GX, FT920, FT817ND). Also VHF FM rigs are, Kenwood/Trio TH 78E, TH-F7E, TM-401A, TM-441E, TW-4000A and several computers. It's a pity I can't get any decent sized antennas up for 160/80m as I only have a small garden I have a 3 ele 6 metre beam and a 90 foot inverted L at around 30 feet also VHF/UHF colinears. @ 2009 I now have eight grand-children and two great-grandchildren, two boys out of that lot so I feel a bit out numbered Hi.
