This station marks the visit of astronaut Colonel Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin to Pontefract as a guest of the West Yorkshire Astronomical Society.

The Pontefract and District Amateur Radio Society shares the same site as the Astronomical Society's Rosse Observatory and it is from here that GB0BUZZ will operate.

The station is on the air for seven days only: from Monday, 24. March 2008 until the day of Buzz's visit, Sunday, 30. March.

A commemorative QSL card will be issued for each QSO with GB0BUZZ and reports from SWLs will be especially welcome.
