GB2CLB will be active again from outside the Henry Blogg lifeboat museum, on the promenade, east beach, Cromer, Norfolk, on Sunday, 9th August, 2009. There will be displays by the new Cromer Lifeboat, the Tamar Class "Lester", which went into service in February last year.

We should be active on all HF bands 160m to 10m, and 2m for local contacts. There will be a 23cms ATV link from the boathouse to our gazebo, so visitors  can watch the boat launch at 11 o'clock. Please come and see us, and perhaps give a donation to our very deserving lifeboats.

QSL cards will be available via the bureau, or direct if your request is accompanied with 2x 1$US bills, or 2 IRC's. UK directs need just an SASE.

We hope for a good warm sunny day, and the Cromer RNLI will have collecting boxes around the area for collecting donations.

GB2CLB was active on 3rd August, 2008, from the promenade adjacent to the new Henry Blogg Museum, in Cromer. The boat, the new Tamar Class all weather boat "Lester", was on display and gave a good account of herself with a fine display with the inshore boat, and the Air/Sea rescue helicopter. The day started off with torrential rain, which cleared just before the 11 am start of the display, and returned just after the closing service, at 3.30pm. For the display, the sun came out!

GB2CLB was active on 5th August, 2007, from the promenade adjacent to the new Henry Blogg Museum, in Cromer. The boat, a Mersey Class all weather lifeboat, 2 inshore boats, and the Air/Sea rescue helicopter gave a display of their expertise, rescuing a live "dummy" from the waters of the North Sea. The day was a gloriously warm summers day, and the beach was crowded with holidaymakers, visitors, and locals alike.

GB2CLB was active 7th August 2005, on Life Boat Day, from the pier forecourt, Cromer, Norfolk. HF used a 3 element beam from an FT748 running 100 watts. ATV on 23 cms was used to convey pictures of lifeboat activity in the boathouse at the end of the pier to the main station at the pier forecourt. A service of dedication and the Cromer Smugglers featured in ther transmission. It was hoped for a ride on the boat by one of the Bittern DX Group putting on the special event station, with a camera and 23 cms link to land, but inclement weather cancelled the ride.
