First licensed as GI8YDZ in 1979, active at one time on all bands 1.8 - 1296.0 Mhz and 10Ghz. I have always been interested in weak signal VHF/UHF operating. After passing my Morse exam January 1991 I upgraded to a Class 'A' license in March of that year and was issued with GI0OTC. The 6 meter band has become my all time favourite, occasional visits to HF have always resulted in my returning to the MAGIC band. I currently hold the first (6M DXCC #70 dated 1992) issued to a GI operator. I also obtained 50Mhz W.A.C. in 1990, and hold the VK6 6M distance record with VK6RO at a distance of 14,904 kms in Feb 1990.
Total countries worked on 6M (June 2014) #168 in 1002 small and 85 large squares. My other radio interests include building high-power RF power amplifiers (all bands), and messing about with antennas etc. I have just recently returned to radio after a break of 11 years, really enjoying meeting old friends again..

Hope to meet you on the air soon..

Have fun on the "Magic Band"..
