heading photo station in 1956 when it all started .those were the days .ah nostalgia.

age 75 licenced from 1956.operated from wales until 1978 qsy to g land for 22 years . retired to west wales in 2001 where i first got on air in august 56

was in raf then but left after 3 years having operated as ZB1DZ on malta from 1957/58.

worked in communications when it ment radio!, then a spell in tv servicing, this was followed by 25 years in avionics which took me around a bit

mostly was a cw operator but now keep up with the digital modes as well , often to be found on jthf on 20/15 /10mtrs.

in season active on 6m always looking for the dx there.

have done most of the great things we can try in this hobby.meteor scatter on 144mhz was a big interest for many years and hope go there again soon.

currently run a ic775dsp .ic7400&ts2000x with 5el yagi on 6m&henry 2006a amp. .9el on 144 and butternut vertical on 9 bands .its a bit dodgy after 12 years but has done well for me here.  now on WSPR on 30m with 100mw into the butternut150mw 30m beacon on qrss3 coming shortly.

WSPR has been very interesting and use it on 4m 6m and 10m as well as 30m where i am often on most of the day.

will have a 4 el for 10mtrs up this year i hope so as to catch the improving band condx.

also on 70mhz 40w into 5ele LFA

have stopped on 432 and 23 as qth is too difficult to make it worth the effort .[ latest should be back on these two bands for winter 2012]

never been a certificate hunter love dxing but not paranoid

have 650 squares on 6m in last 12 years

263 on 144

125 on 70mhz

45 on 432 and 4 on 23cms.

hope work you soon 73 geoff GW3LEW
