Ham Radio took me as a Child. My Elmers were at first my brother George, then I1CHN Paolino and HB9CK Ulisse, they all SK. Other friends follow soon by v-uhf AM. Then I moved around in many countries where no ham operation or reciprocity was allowed or available, (like 5A5). I went back in EU in RANCATE (TI) in 1970, and I met weekly HB9SV and his Tremona group. I also own the callsign I2JJR, and have had IW2AAZ, PA9AMQ 9H3JR ; special calls operated II2ANT, I*2SRT, IQ2BJ, HB9RL, HB2008RL, HB9WFF .

I am member of the USKA from 1973; Member of the ARI from 1961, Honour Roll.

Member of the iQRP Club, Nr.159; G-QRP Club; FISTS ; Strange Radio Team, nr.49 and then of the DXItaly; member of the Radio Club Locarno and of "The Old Scraps Team"; member also of the "Insubria Radio" group, for the Regio Insubrica. Honour Roll of  both the DCI Italian Castles Awards (QRP) and DCS Swiss Castles Awards. Also member of the HBFF and WWFF Awards Management Team.

Co-Founder of the "Luino Amateur Radio Club", 1962; "Radio Club Grande Stagno", Luino 1972; Sezione ARI di Luino in the '80s . Ideator and co-founder of the DCS-SSD Awards, and then of the SSFG-GSRC Team .

I am proud to have helped many friends to become Ham Radio operators with classes in many places and many years, this is the most exciting thing in HamRadio, together with QRP DX and homebrewing qrp tube and SWLing in the '60s.

In the years after my degree I had a Job by the late firm Zellweger AG in Uster ZH, (1964) and this has been the happiest job place in my life. A great firm like their SE-xxx mil transceivers.

I married in Bissone (TI) in 1970, and my daughter was born in Sorengo near Lugano in 1972. She lives now in Norwich , UK.

Went again in foreign countries for my job on vy large hydro power stations and their automation, last one was in Palermo, Sicily in the late '90s, thus retired in 2000 while being in LU CE CX . Often in 5R8 for free missionary voluntary help , maybe I'll someday be on the air as 5R8JR from the 5R8 southern mountains . I am mostly around in Abruzzo (I6) lately, as life is very agreable and easy there with good foods, good climate, and good Friends !

You are very welcome to see more about me by searching I2JJR here on QRZ .
