December 2013

After a few years of QRT (my last partecipation in contest was in 2006) right now i've just moved definitivelyto Hong Kong (due my job) and i've just started again with the Ham Radio activity.

My temporary callsign is VR2/IV3TAN (but in the fucture i hope to obtain a 2x2 callsign) and i'll try to do my best in Low Bands (40, 80 and 160 meters) despite the small space around my house.

In the past i used several different Contest Callsigns: IQ3A, II3T, D4A, D44TC, D44TD, IG9T, IG9/IV3TAN, (a few times IR4T), 4U1ITU, T7 etc... WRTC Referee in Slovenia (2000), Finland (2002), Brazil (2006). See you soon in the contest !!!

January 2014

My station is very simple: ICOM IC 756 PROIII + IC-2KL (400W) and IC-AT500

40 meters: half wave Inverted V dipole (I operate 80% SSB and 20% CW)

80 meters: half wave Inverted V dipole (I operate 20% SSB and 80% CW)

160 meters: half slooper (I Operate 99,5 % on CW)

Unfortunately i've small space in my terrace and around the house and i don't have the possibility to install any RX antenna like Pennant, K9AY, EWE or something else...

Due the very high noise level (always around S7 to S8... or S4 during the Sunrise) it's very hard for me to listen to the weak and medium signals. I'm sorry if sometimes i'm not be able to copy you at the first call :-)

July 2014

50 MHz  Finally i'm active also in the Macig Band. I use the IC756 PROIII (100W) and a 4 el. Hy Gain Yagi. QRV SSB/CW.

P.S I'm not member of the Italian Amateur Radio Association (ARI) ad for this reason unfortunately i can't receive the QSL through the Italian Bureau.
