I live in Verona but work as Molecular Biologist in the Laboratory of San Bonifacio Hospital, 20 Km east of Verona. Many times I must be readily available in the Lab, also during the night, so I often remain in San Bonifacio in a little apartment near the Hospital. Here I'm setting up my new radio station (with FT-857, 40 Watts). Unfortunately, my neighbors don't like big ham antennas on the roof, so I must use an emergency antenna. The antenna is the rain gutter of the house.

The wire (barely visible..), once entered the apartment through the safety air outlet, is connected to an autotuner. The ground is connected to the cold water pipe.

Sure it isn't the best antenna system, but works. Sorry for my weak signals (sometimes not-so-weak, as some OM reported...but most of the work has been done by their antennas), I'm planning something better.

73, hope to hear you (or see you on the waterfall) soon.
