I was first licenced as a Novice in 1957 and became a Technician in 1960, licensed as K8BIS. Born and raised in Lorain, Ohio I did a four year tour with Uncle Sam in the Air Force starting in 1963. I worked on both Atlas F and Minute Man II ICBMs for the Strategic Air Command (SAC). My last PCS was Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster, MO in 1965 and, in 1967 after discharge, I took up permanent residency in Missouri. I played in "Rock" bands throughout the '60s and early '70s, retiring the Hammond B3 organ after marriage to get a "real" job (as requested by my wife). Twenty two years later, with 2 grown children and 5 college degrees I found myself single and back in the music scene. Retiring from AT&T in 1985 and Ford Manufacturing in 2007, I remained in the music background this time as composer, producer, and recording engineer with my own record label. I feel I have gone full circle, enjoying my two true passions, music and QRP ham radio.
