QSL image for K1DC

Originally licensed as W1WLZ in 1952, in 1976 I applied for and received the call sign K1DC.

My primary ham radio interests have been DXing and restoring vintage equipment. The photo above shows my 1934 vintage Collins 30-FX transmitter and 1936 National NC-101X receiver.

In October 2011 XYL Callie and I decided to depart New England to be closer to our Grandson and to enjoy a warmer climate so we relocated to Dothan, Alabama near the south eastern corner of the state.

During the summer months we plan to be reverse snowbirds and head north to enjoy the cooler temperatures and will be sailing in the waters off Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut aboard "Blue Velvet" our Sabre 38' sailboat.

Hope to meet new and old friends on the airwaves from Alabama or as K1DC/MM.

73,

Don, K1DC
