I have been an active ham since 1993. My favorite activities are VHF roving, HF mobile for NYQP, QRP, CW, 160M, 6M, and contesting. Combing these things is definitely FB! DX is also on the list as long it doesn't involve unruly pileups and hours at the radio.

Most of my actual operating time is spent contesting. I'm usually out on the road for the big three ARRL VHF contests along with CQWW VHF and sometimes the August UHF. I don't tend to have many HF contests blocked out on the calendar, but instead try to on for a few hours here and there to help pad the scores of big guns. Some of my favorite contests are Stew Perry, RAC, ARRL 160, and the CWops CWT and Open.

My shack is sporting a new K3/10 with a couple of options and it is taking time to learn all of the incredible features. (Going to Dayton can be a drain on the wallet.) A new MacMini runs Aether Log for general logging and Parallels/Win7/N1MM for contests. I have tried RUMped and Skookum Logger and like both but I've been usign N1MM for so long that I've had a hard time switching.

If you are in the Niagara Frontier region and like contesting, check out a brand new club, NF2RS (Niagara Frontier RadioSport). The callsign is a clickable link.
