NEW K3XR 10 METER BEACON ON 28.2868 see below for more information.

Having been licensed in 1960 enjoyed many years in the hobby. My main interest is CW, some digital modes and phone, including AM. Enjoy contesting but not nearly as active as in years past. Operate on all bands up to 432.Use a number of wire antennas, mostly vertical quad loops, including a vertical quad loop for 80 meters. Also a 3el steppir and beams for 6,2,432. Have a large collection of vingtage gear that needs to be culled, let me know what you are looking for.

APRSMarch 2014 started in APRS mode after having been on Packet in the late 70's early 80's.  Home station(K3XR-15)is Packet Engine Pro and Signalink USB soundcard interface to Yaesu FT 3000M.  SUV setup(K3XR-9) is Kenwood TM 710D and Green Light GPS.  Portable and hiking set up (K3XR-7) is a Kenwood TH D72 on when hiking or camping. The radio part is fun the computer part a head scratcher.  Can be tracked on the site APRS.fi by searching the above identifiers.

Other interest include hiking, rails to trails bike riding, ride a recumbent bicycle. Enjoy fishing, have a bass boat that I use mostly on our local lake, Blue Marsh Lake, http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/projects.cfm?Id=E501780

Also do a great deal of hiking there with my dog Jake, a German Wirehaired Pointer who replaced my deceased Vizsla Scout. Hockey fan and take in many of the Hershey Bears games in nearby Hershey, Pa., yes, that Hershey, as well as, the East Coast Hockey League Reading Royals team in Reading, Pa.

Retired, second-in-command of a 50 man municipal police department in New Jersey having served over 30 years.

Live alone on 1.5 acres on the side of small mountain at about the 700 ft. above sealevel with a good shot to the NW around to the SW.
