I was first licensed in 1967 as WN4KGB in Miami Florida and have been active ever since. Other calls WB4KGB and WD5GLW. I enjoy DXing, Contesting, SSTV, Feld Hell, PSK, Satellites,Special Event Stations (working and operating) and good old rag chewing. I am member of QCWA (28780), ARRL, Florida Contest Group (FCG), Pacific DXers (519), Feld Hell Club (FH2458), 3905 Century Club (2663),ARLHS (1782), and POTA. One of my most rewarding activities is running my annual Special Event Station K4MIA honoring our POWs and MIAs. I also collect antique radios (Crystal, Spark, early battery radios from the 1920s and amateur radios (especially Drake)). I have to mention two other hams, my lovely wife Betsy K4RPI for supporting and helping me in this great hobby. Also, my good friend Don KB5VP with whom I have made thousands of contacts over the last thirty five years.

National POW MIA Recognition Day Special Event Station
Observances of National POW MIA Recognition Day are held across this country on the third Friday in September each year. This year (2014) it will be on September 19th. The day was established to honor our prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. K4MIA will be in operation September 10 thru 21 to recognize our POWs and MIAs. Will operate on or around 21.300, 18.150, 14.265, and 7.185. Also, there will be a sister station K4MIA/7 in operation the same days. For a QSL (card can be seen below) please send your QSL and SASE to address above. Because of volume of requests you MUST send SASE to get a returned QSL. Please take time to remember our POW's and MIA's as well as their families. I would like to include all veterans (past and present) that have given so much for this country.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day special event was a huge success again. This was the 5th year and has become an annual event on the third Friday in September. Many thanks to everyone that made it a success, especially Lee K7NM for running sister station K4MIA/7 again this year. Also thanks to Ed K4NYC for running the second station the first three years. Looking forward to next year.
