VUCC #1148 50 MHZ, 8/28/2001

Hello and thanks for stopping by my QRZ Site. . I am 53 years old, and I am a EXTRA Class Operator.I am not Married but I have 2 Wonderful Sons, My Oldest being Jacob who is 15

years old, and my youngest being Trevor who is 9 Years old. I love them very much, and my Boys are my life . I spent 18 years in Law Enforcement, as a Law Enforcement Officer, with 16 years being employed by Kentucky State Government, before I Retired on disability. (Serious Bad Back). I live in a small town in Southeastern Kentucky named BOONEVILLE, located in OWSLEY County. Booneville got its name from the famous 1700's Explorer, DANIEL BOONE. He camped here Hunting,Fishing,Trapping and Surveying, for many seasons. I am located in Grid Square EM87el.

My Base Equipment consists of two ICOM 746's, HF-6M-2M, 100 Watt Allmodes. An ICOM SM-20 Mic,and a Heil HM-I Mic and 2 Icom SP-21 External Speakers.I also have a MFJ 989C 3KW Antenna Tuner, and a Ameritron AL-1200 HF Amplifier. Also I run a Kenwood TM-255A, 2 Meter 40 watt Allmode. The Mic on it is a Heil Goldline Mic with the GM5 Element and I run a RFConcepts 2-315 170 Watt Amplifier. This is my primary 2Meter FM rig. I also have a 10 Meter RCI 2970 100 Watt, Allmode Base Radio with an Astatic Super Sidebander Mic. All powered by an Astron RS-70M Power Supply. Also I have 3 Scanners,a Radio Shack DX-394 Reciever, and lastly a Diawa CN-801 SWR & Power Meter. I run a Icom 2100 2 Meter FM rig in my vehicle. As you can tell, I really enjoy Amateur (Ham) Radio.

I have 3 Towers. The first is a 100 FT.Rohn tower in my front yard, Ground Elevation 825 Ft.,with a 2-Meter Vertical on top, Next is a 2-Meter Cushcraft 17B2 Horz. Beam, and lastly a Cushcraft 6-Element 6-Meter Horz. Beam. All being turned by a Yaesu G-450XL Rotor. For my HF work, I have a Second Rohn Tower,113 Ft. in height. I have a Alpha Delta Inverted V, Model DX-LB PLUS. It covers 160-10 meters. I have the Apex of the inverted V, hung at the 105 Ft. Mark. This tower and inverted V is located 1100 feet away from the Back of my home on a higher hill. I run 1 inch catv 75 ohm hardline to it and it works great.I have just recently put up a 3rd Rohn Tower which is 95 Ft. in Height. It has a 13B2 Vertical on top, then under it I have a Hy-Gain TH7DX Super Thunderbird HF Beam, Being turned by a Ham 4 Rotor. Most of the above can be seen on my website at www.qsl.net/k4sja, I hope you will visit it.
