I received my Novice ticket in the fall of 1958 and my General in 1959 while I was working for my father as a flight instructor in Baton Rouge, LA. I attended LSU from 1954-1958 and was in the AFROTC and a drill team member of the Pershing Rifles. After LSU I flew for Gov. Jimmie Davis from early 1960 until July 1961 when I went to work as a pilot for Delta Air Lines, retiring as an international Captain on the MD-11 in Sept. 1996.I was QRT for many years while working for Delta but got the urge to get back on the air in Sept. 2003 and received my Extra in Dec. that same year. I have been a Warbird pilot (WWII airplanes) for about 25 years, flown many types and many airshows and have lived on a small community airport since the early '90's.I like working DX and ragchewing with other hams with similar interests. The aircraft in the picture is a 1944 Supermarine MK VIII Spitfire flown by Aubrey K5TKY. The Spit is owned by the Cavanaugh Flight Museum located in Addison Texas. I also have flown the P-51 Mustang, F4U Corsair, FM2 Wildcat, Curtis P-40, Republic P-47, North American B-25 , Douglas A-26 and Douglas C-47. Was a great time but am retired now at almost 80 years of age.
