I received my first license and call in February of 1959, KN7HTZ. Upgraded to General class license later that year and got K7HTZ. Upgraded to Amateur Extra class in 1969 when I left military service. Changed call to K7CW during the "call sign land rush" of the middle 1970s.

Was 40 meter operator on Rush Drake, W7RM's DX contest (and antenna forest maintenance) crew at Foulweather Bluff, Washington during the multi-multi heydays of 1969 through middle 70s along with great ops like Johnny, KE7V (WA7OTT); Dale, VE7SV/CE2AWW; Danny, K7SS (K7JCA); Chip, K7JA (K7VPF); Bob, N7UA (K7JJL); Rex, K7QQ (W5QQQ); John, W7XR (W7YGN) and Homer, K7RA (SK, W7EXM) - and with many other now famous guest ops.
