My XYL Rose W9DHD & ME

I was first licensed as KN9UCR in 1959. I updated to K9IL in 1977.I have been active all these years on HF. My prefered mode is CW. This is a pix of some of the antennas at K9IL. I hope my descriptions can encourage others. I have no antennas higher than 55'. The TA33 is at 52'. Off that tower is a 160m OCF dipole/Vee.If you click on & enlarge the photo from left to right is the 17m yagi, the 30m Moxon yagi, the 12m yagi with 2m FM & 220 FM and the TA 33 & 6m yagi .I just installed a used HyTower. It will be my 40m antenna & back up .Not in the picture are the other 3 towers. All the other towers are 30'or 40' with a 10' mast out the top. Two towers support an 80m 1/2 square. One supports the 160m OCF dipole.I have lots of antennas but not giant towers. These are antennas that anyone can build easily. A lot of my towers were either bought at a reasonable price or free. Lots of folks don't want towers when they get cable or. sat. tv! I've got 2000' of buried coax & rotor cable but that's to keep the clutter down. I painted the 4 towers holding the wire antennas CAMMO. If you have a green background the CAMMO towers blend in easily. Even when ham friends are visiting I often have to point out the rear towers. It allows a lower footprint in the neighborhood.If the proof is in the pudding I say you can be a very happy ham on a modest budget and modest antennas. I am a dxer. MY current DXCC total is360 confirmed. The ST0 makes it 360 countries. . I had the 'clean sweep' before moving to this QTH. I'm missing N Korea .My goal is 10 band DXCC.I have just received my QSLs back from ARRL & now have 9 band DXCC confirmed.This season I installed a 160/80m receive loop. Also the QTH was built from the foundation up by me and my xyl W9DHD.She is at 147+ countries confirmed.We are the only currently active HF station in Weakley county Tennessee. Anyone needing my county I'll try a sked. Just installed a 5 el. beam for 6 meters at 55' over the TA33.I' m up to 90 countries on 6m. Be happy to sked anyone on any band for my rare county or EM56 grid square. A DXer is a DXer on any band !!!!!

Besides the mini antenna farm the radios are IC 730, AL 811h amp & a K3 and KPA500 Elecraft amp.Rose uses a TS 590s.
