I am a retired electronics engineer that worked for Litton Industries for 25 years designing and building automated material handling systems (ASRS) around the country and around the world.
I am also disabled from polio at age 3 years. I spent 12 years in and out of Shriners hospitals as a child. I was their poster child in 1953.
My station consists of a Yeasu FT-847 driving an old AEA 700 watt linear. My antenna is a 27 foot vertical feed with a SGC 500 watt auto tuner. The antenna itself can be raised and lowered when not in use so the HOA won't see it.
I also have an Icom IC-7000 for motorhome and cruise ship operation.
I am currently working on putting up a VHF/UHF antenna for emergency operations.
