I’m using the Heathkit, HW-101 with a D104 and an Astatic T-UG8 stand. This goes into a homebrew G5RV. I did not build the rig however I have done all the repairs, alignment. The antenna is approximately 60 feet up and positioned N by NE to S by SW. At the transceiver I’m using a MFJ Versa tuner II. The rig and antenna have performed well on 80/75, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters. In the late 70's I was licensed as WD9EJB / novice and worked many CW contacts. I'm on the HF bands that the rig has using SSB or CW. I'm using a Brown Brothers side paddel and a homebrew electronic keyer. Now I am restoring the Heathkit SB 301 and SB 401 that was the station I had as a novice. A good cleaning and some tubes will do the trick. I recently added a Yaesu FT 757 GX and made a conversion adapter for my G5RV to turn it into a Marconi style antenna for use on 160m. Now I have 15m and 40m mobile operation using the FT 757 GX. Soon to have 80m mobile.
