I am new to amateur radio but first caught the bug at age 10 when I spent time with my uncle (WA5CJN, now SK) who amazed me on HF with his CW and Phone contacts. I knew at that time that some day I wanted to become a member of this wonderful group of enthusiasts. My education and then my career captivated my time until recently when I became licensed in September, and then upgraded to General on Halloween of 2009.

I have found already that I enjoy many modes because I'm always looking for something new to try. Currently, I'm delving into CW and hope that some day I will be proficient enough to enjoy this mode as much as my uncle did. Thankfully, I have been encouraged and supported in my endeavors by members of the St. Louis and Suburban Radio Club (SLSRC, W0SRC) and the Mississippi Valley DX and Contesting Club (MVDX/CC).

My other hobbies include music (minor degree, and play keyboards), scuba diving, power boating and water sports, motorcycles, travel, languages, and photography. I hope soon to begin flying lessons as well. As I mentioned, I always enjoy a new challenge! Laughing

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio and get to know me a little better, and I certainly hope to get a shout from you the next time I am on the air.

Best 73 es gud DX de Mike
