Hi and welcome to my QRZ page. The picture here shows me at the K8DAR   ham station.   I was licensed on Dec. 7 2006, and upgraded to General shortly thereafter. I upgraded to Extra class on March 1, 2008.  My sister and I are homeschooled, and are very active in our local homeschool group.   I belong to the Menominee D.A.R. Boys & Girls Club, and a member of the Menominee D.A.R. Radio Club, as well as the Marinette & Menominee Amateur Radio Club. I am also a charter member of the rapidly expanding international young ham group Y.A.C.H.T.  the Young Amateurs Contest Ham Team, http://www.wd8dx.com/yacht.html and belong to our youth church group called the Royal Rangers. 

I have a brand new Yaesu FT 450 hf rig, and a 20 meter wire, which recently was temporarily installed.   I can now get on the HF bands with my new Yaesu FT450 hf rig.     In the spring I will have my G5RV redone and be able to get on all bands.  Until then, look for my callsign on 20 meters, and, of course, on the local repeaters.    

This picture shows me being interviewd by WLUC-TV of Marquette, MI for a special feature on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the Menominee D.A.R. Club. ham station.  We operated a special event K8D in conjunction with that event.
