Click for more detail... I am currently a second year medical student at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. First got into radio at age 11 as an active SWL. Interest waned for a little while, but returned while in college at Indiana University, and I passed the Technician exam in November, 1999. After my first Field Day with the IU and Bloomington Amateur Radio Clubs, I was motivated to upgrade, and passed the General written and CW exams in August of 2000, not quite nine months later. While in college, I served as president of the Indiana University Amateur Radio Club for one year, and vice-president for two years. I operated a good bit of HF out of the IU club shack, and made quite a few contacts under the callsign K9IU. Although medical school seems to be leaving me with little time to devote to radio, my primary interests within the hobby include HF SSB, PSK31, and CW (though the latter could use a little work - HI HI), contesting, VHF net control, traffic handling, and emergency communications.
