Click for more detail... For any stations I work and who need a QSL from Tennessee, Shelby County or Memphis, I QSL 100%. No return postage or SASE needed. See you on the air! Previous call signs include WN9VIE, WB9SXD (Indiana) and KA6CMY (Southern California). I acquired my current call sign while stationed on Guam as a Radioman with the U.S. Coast Guard. I've been an SWL since 1964 and a ham since 1967. I am a veteran of the U.S. Navy (Cryptologic Technician 1969-73) and U.S. Coast Guard (Radioman 1979-89), and am now Chief of Public Affairs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District. There, I am also the primary point of contact for our unit's annual participation in the Armed Forces Day Communications Tests held from our station WUG-231. I have a wonderful woman in my life, two grown children who I am very proud of and one handsome grandson. I would be happy to hear from any old shipmates or fellow ham or SWL friends. I QSL 100% - no return postage or SASE necessary. If we have a QSO and I receive a card from you, you'll get one from me. My shack includes a Yaesu FT-450 running about 100 watts barefoot to a G5RV Jr. dipole tuned with a fantastic LDG Z-100Plus Autotuner. Backup rig is a trusty Kenwood TS-440S. Other gear includes an R-390A boat anchor receiver just like the ones I used in the Navy, a JRC NRD-535 general coverage receiver, a Sony ICF-2010 receiver for travel and convenience listening and a beautiful old Hallicrafters SX-100 receiver. It's a simple station but I find that I'm often able to get through the pileups with some patience. Hope to meet you on the air and thanks for stopping by.
