I am married to Janie Matthews Luke, KC4ZUM. I have two grown daughters, Hannah Peters of Dothan, AL and Amy Tadlock, KD4CHV, of Ozark, AL.

Interests include SSB, CW, RTTY, contesting, casual DXing, restoration of antique radios, and Air Force MARS using MT63 digital mode. I am a member of the Alabama Contest Group.

Current equipment includes: Kenwood TS-440SAT for digital modes, Icom IC-738 for SSB and CW with a Behringer UB802 audio processor and Timewave DSP-9+. Amplifiers are a Henry 3K Classic, Yaesu FT-2100F, or Heathkit SB-201. Antennas are Cushcraft A3S with A743 40 meter add-on kit at 70 ft. and an off-center fed windom for lower bands at 50 ft. For VHF 2m, Yaesu FT-2500M transceiver. When running mobile, the equipment is an ICOM IC-706Mk2 with Hustler type antenna.

Accessories : Bird Model 43 watt meter; Bencher paddle; MFJ 989C 3kw tuner; MFJ 1279 audio interface plus a homebrew interface for the other HF rig; Motorola mobile speakers peaked for voice frequency response; HP 520C Pavilion for logging, digital modes, and Ham Radio Deluxe.

Be sure to look for me in the Alabama QSO Party, June 7-8, 2014 on both ssb and cw for DALE county.
