Big fun event Feb. 11th! I got to see and video in HD the launch of an Atlas V rocket at Vandenberg AFB. The payload was a NASA Landsat. Search ANOKAMAN on Youtube for that and a few motorcycle videos. I caught the radio bug from my Dad, W0DZM when I was just a kid back in Minnesota. I'm back on HF after several years of just 2 meter operation. I enjoyed field day, chasing DX, and did some contesting until the wind took out my A4S, 10 meter 5 ele., and 2 meter array about 8 years ago. I retired in July, 2012 so as of October 2012 I had an inverted V for 40M., and had a vertical rectangle loop for 10M. just in time for this 11 year cycle peak. The antenna is now a TH3 with 2 extra directors. I've just added a dipole for 17 M. on top. The rig HAS BEEN a Yeasu FT 901 DM, D104 mic, running barefoot but something bad happened and most of the smoke escaped so I picked up a sweet little Kenwood TS-430. Not sure which band I like more, 15 or 17. Mid-August I picked up a Kenwood TS-930 and when that goes on the air the 430 will go in the truck and get some field day use.

I guess I'll have to get a rig on the Honda soon, it would have been some added fun on my recent roadtrip from Wisconsin to Sturgis, SD., and eventually back to California. Bikes are Honda VTX 1300 (shown), Honda Shadow Spirit 750, and a '51 Cushman. I belong to the North American Aviation Skeet and Trap Club, and I hunt, fish, and play with my metal detector and other gold hunting gear. Radio control planes and rocketry are a couple other things I do when I have time. Oh yes, and there is always poker and the Stock Market!

Thanks for the lookup and 73!
