Originally licensed as a Tech in the 70's as WB3AJK. Upgraded to General, Advanced, and finally as an Extra, afterwhich I got the call of KR3U.
Member and former president of the Delaware-Lehigh Amateur Radio Club.
I currently live in an apartment with my wife Pat, KB3IDQ, where operating is a challenge, but the landlord is very nice and has been allowing us to put some antennas up and is helping make suggestions as to where I can connect others. We are using a mobile antenna mount with interchangable whips outside of a bedroom window where the antenna is on a flat roof that can be accessed through the window. We are planning on installing some dipoles in the very near future when the weather allows it.
Equipment is an Icom IC-730 HF rig through a Dentron Super Tuner, and a Yaesu FT 7100 dual band radio for 146/440. We also have a Yaesu FT 221 all mode radio for 2 meters. We can operate digital modes using a SignalLink Interface on HF. We are active on all bands, but our favorite is 10 meters when open (10-10 #14472).
Employment: I am Team Leader in the Neck Assembly area of C.F. Martin and Co, Inc., (Martin Guitar). Wife is also a Team Leader there in the Top and Back Assembly area.
Hobbies besides amateur radio are boating (We have a 2004 Crownline 235CCR on Lake Wallenpaupack, Pike County), metal detecting and Gold hunting when we visit relation in Arizona. Last modified: 2011-02-19 17:10:48, 2303 bytes cached
