Bio: When I was in 7th grade, my neighbor had a shortwave receiver. He had a wire antenna up over the house. He let me listen to the radio and all kinds of stuff came flowing out of the speakers. So I saved up my paper route money and bought at Radio Shack Astronaut 6 band radio. I listened to hams and shotwave broadcasts and police calls. Well life went on when I was 35 a friend at work starting talking about getting a ham radio license. So westudied and got our ticket.
My station: IC-756PROIII, backup is an IC- 706mkIIg, Ameritron AL-811 for hf and a Yaesu 2500 for vhf. My antennas are: Force12 C3 7 element beam that covers 10-20 meters up about forty feet and a 10 meter vertical for local traffic. Also have an 80 meter loop and 40 meter dipole for hf and a Cushcraft dual bander and a 13B2 beamfor 144 and 440 mgz. My mobile station: IC-7000, with a High Sierra screw driver I have been a ham since 1993, I like to participate in Arrl and CQ WW contests, chase DX. I have my WAS and working on my DXCC. I like working Field Day, going to hamfests, and rag chewing on 10 meters. I will be getting started back into being a VE, and doing public events that involve ham radio. 1010 # 66107, South Cars # 1331
