About me

Stein-Roar Brobakken, on the air known as RAG since 1994, Stein Roar is translated Stanley Roger in English, when I was 14 years old my name was too long CW.I was running straight key for 1 year so RAG was chosen like this Roger > Rog > Rag It was perfect nickname for cw :)

I was first time in touch with CW about 1985-1986 during some CW course in LA5G, but due age limit I didn't got my B-license with callsign LB3RE in age of 14-15 year. LB was only allowed to use CW Mode and max 15 watts in HF band. It took me a year with a TS-520 and Window FD-4 Antenna to work 1200 QSO.That was great experience :) My birthdaygift@March 12th for my 16th birthday was from NPT LA6FJA was callsign agreed with NPT.

My Call :LA6FJA K3RAG SO5RAG DU1/LA6FJA ex: LB3RE

Family Hams: Father :LA5FHA Svein Olav (ex: LB8SC), Brother: LA1LUA Patrick and stepmother Nora LA4TOA, I have 4 sister and 1 brother, and married to Aiza from Philippines

  • LB3RE may 6th 1994 til 12th March 1995 ( my birthday), then swapped to LA6FJA (A class)
  • SWL since 1985, practicedCW since 1986 !!! 100% CW Lover!
  • my carrier started when my fatherSvein/LB8SC, now LA5FHA, started with cw in 1985/1986. I did also started CW when I was 7 years old.
