The 150th Anniversary of the 1863-1864 Uprising in Lithuania.
The uprising in Lithuania began on March, 1863. Occupation army of Russia finally suppressed the armed fight in autumn, 1864. In Lithuania there were 321 battles against the Imperial Russian army. In Vilnius command there were 145 000 soldiers and 6 0000 Cossacks of the czar army, part of which suppressed the uprising. During the fights the balance of forces often used to be 1:10 or even 20 on Russia behalf. During the uprising Russian government sentenced to death or penal servitude and expatriated 21 712 people.
